The Yorkshire Peaks Challenge is a 12-hour journey that will take you on an adventure across three of Yorkshires most beautiful mountains to raise money for OUSET. As a group of 12 you will be guided through the walk with a fully qualified mountain leader who will lead the way on what is a spectacular scenic adventure.

Taking place on Saturday 31 August, the challenge is designed to raise money for the OU Students Educational Trust, a charity that provides OU students with grants that will support them to complete their studies. You can find out more about some of the students the trust has supported at OUSET stories. As a group, we are looking for all participants to raise £303 each to total the cost of covering a module for an OU student in need.There are only 11 spaces left, so be quick to snap one up today! 
 
Register to take part in the Three Peaks Challenge
The £70 sign-up fee includes:
  • A qualified Mountain leader, with full first aid outdoor certification to lead the group.
  • Support vehicle for emergency use, plus half way check in with snacks and water top ups.
  • Accommodation in Dales Lodge, for 1x night before – Friday 30th Aug 2024.
  • Teams call with group and guide ahead of challenge for Q&A.
  • Full participation pack with information on kit required, sponsorship pack, and preparation tips.

  • Registration to sign-up is open now! Simply complete the form, pay your joining fee and then begin your fundraising journey as you prepare to take on the Three Peaks Challenge! Participants will collect their donations via Just Giving, and full details on how to set this up will be provided once registration is completed. As mentioned, there are very limited spaces on the trip, so act quickly to save your spot and be a part of the adventure.

     

    Who are the Students Association?

    The Open University Students Asssociation exists to make a positive difference to all OU students and is run by an elected student Leadership Team.
    It houses clubs, societies, volunteering opportunities and support groups you can get involved with, plus much more.

    What is OUSET?

    The OU Students Educational Trust (OUSET) is a grant giving trust committed to providing students in severe hardship with access to funds that will help them successfully complete their studies.

    What does the route entail?

    The 12 hour route covers 24 miles across the three peaks of Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside, making up approximately 1600m of ascent and descent.

    What is included in the challenge cost?
